PERT Chart

PERT charts ease-out project managers to create realistic schedules and forecasts. They can build a timeline of activities and estimate the duration of each by setting three frames for each: optimistic, most likely, and pessimistic.

These three estimates make PERT charts particularly useful to plan projects where the duration of activities is uncertain and depends on many variables.

Typically, PERT charts are combined with project scheduling programs and are widely used in the IT sector.

The benefits of PERT Chart:

  • identifying the critical path to estimate the minimum amount of time that will be needed to execute all the tasks of a project.
  • simplifying complex projects and visualizing all dependencies between particular steps.
  • providing clear responsibilities for those steps
